The listing, India's obsolete coins: 10 paise has ended.
10 Paise was HUGE when i was a child of 5+.
It was TWICE my Daily Allowance; of course, it was
raised to a princely Rs.3/- per month when i turned
six... it was my 1st 'bit of knowledge' about inflation.
But, of course, the coin you see in the picture had
already lost it's VALUE.
Had you dared throw it to any beggar in any Indian
street, you stood the risk of being invited to join the
team by the beggar.
No wonder then, that it was retired soon after...
NOW, of course, collectors are willing to actually pay GOOD MONEY for THIS* *part of history*.
