In honor of my 2000th auction being listed this week, I figured we'd focus tonight on vintage cards of Hall of Fame baseball players.

THE CARD:
This is a 1981 Permagraphics REGGIE JACKSON baseball card. Aside from this being the only one of these I have seen in person, I don't know much about these; it is hard plastic, like a credit card, and has a signature spot on the back below the stats and career highlights, coupled with the message "The bearer of this card is a certified loyal fan and is entitled to all ensuing rights and privileges".

THE PLAYER:
Reggie was already an MVP winner and a World Series Champion with the Oakland A's by the time he reached the Yankees, but his stay in New York put him over-the-top as the most popular player in baseball for a period in the late 1970s. He hit 3 home runs in a World Series game with the Yankees, and soon had a candy bar named after him. He pounded out 563 home runs in his career, and was a 14 time All Star.
