I googled "how to root your phone and it told how to do this. So if anybody wants to root this phone I guess they can do it. I'm not going to cause I don't know what I am doing.

haha..No they don't come that way cause Verizon sure wouldn't want to give you free service! You have to do it by "hacking" into the phone somehow.

I never use the cell phone to get on the internet. So it might be "rooted". It is a unused phone so do they come "rooted" or do you have to "root" them lol

Rooting means that when they turn off your cable/internet you can still surf the web via your cell connection with tethering without having wireless internet in your home. I don't know how to do it but I know lots of people do but I guess it hasn't been rooted since you didn't know about it. Thanks!
