@nadinedarkhorse - this unit doesn't use a power cord, just a USB cable. It runs off the laptop or desktop computer's power. I had one of these for a time but upgraded to an MPK49.

It comes with a disc but it's not necessary. As soon as you plug the usb Into your computer or laptop it is automatically detected
