West. It converts to be carried on one shoulder and when your out hiking across town you unzip the strap in two to become a backpack. It has enormous amounts of space to carry things, like, the bottom unzips to open 2/3rds of the way for makeup compartment, with built in mirror or as I did, my check book and pens. It has a side zip compartment as well as the compartment you see in picture #5. This is great for someone who rides a scooter or bike to classes or work. It is in near mint condition and has been gently used.
