No they don't. Never put spray on my hair while they were setting just afterwards.

About how hot do they get? No number of degree but in comparison to something. I've had some fade on me before

I don't know. I have had them a while but have only used them a handful of times for special occasions. They have always worked fine for me and have gotten hot. Hot enough that they have burned my fingers a bit if I take too long securing them lol
