Description

The listing, 1971-D Eisenhower Silver Dollar has ended.

1971-D Eisenhower Dollar
The 1971 Eisenhower Dollar was the first year of issue for the series. This release also represented the first dollar coin issued by the United States Mint since 1935. The Philadelphia and Denver Mint struck the Eisenhower Dollars for general circulation, using a copper nickel clad composition. The first coins were released into circulation on November 1, 1971. Finding examples of these early clad Ikes in high grade can be challenging.
This is a very nice coin-my unprofessional guess would be AU. It would be a nice addition to anyone's collection.

Not meant to mislead anyone. They are called silver dollars, but the true composition is in the description of this coin, "using a copper nickel clad composition".

don't mean to be argumentative, but he is correct. To call it a silver dollar is incorrect. collectors and dealers typically call them dollar coins. These are so much nicer then the new dollar coins !! They got some weight, not mistaking them for quarters !!

Collectors aren't the only ones who bid. Everyday people know them as "silver" dollars. That's why the description is accurate, to keep it simple.

This item was INCORRECTLY listed as a "silver dollar". This was not done to intentionally mislead anyone. I would have immediately changed the listing - but it had a bid, so I could not. It is NOT silver, but is a copper nickel clad composition. I've always called them "silver dollars" referring more to the color than the composition. If the winner would like their credits back, I will do whatever it takes to return them. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anyone. I will be much more careful in my future listings
