I don't use lead pencils. These were a from a friend of mine. All I know is there are different sizes.. there are 2 tubes where the lead is thin, in the boxes is thicker, more like the lead in regular pencils. These would probably do more for people that draw, or someone that collects stuff like this. 2 containers are 0.5 not sure what the thicker ones are. it don't say on the box, just say no1. hope that helps.

Mechanical pencils are lead pencils. They use the lead the same way.
