This variety of Calendula produces an abundance of lovely apricot colored blossoms and is encouraged to produce more blossoms when you pick them!

Calendula is a wonderful, easy to grow medicinal and is a beautiful ornamental as well, both fresh and dried.

My favorite part is the full and plump seed-head that occurs throughout the season (which you can see in my second picture).

Calendula is best known for its healing properties in treating minor cuts and abrasions, and as a salve for chapped lips and diaper rash.

Taken internally, it is both anti fungal and anti inflammatory which helps supports the immune system and general well being.

It is known to help with stomach ailments, candida, and simply lift one's spirits.

The most popular herbal preparations of Calendula are simple olive oil infusions (for topical use) and tea made from the blossoms (for internal use).

The blossoms are also a mild flavored edible. Toss them into salads, over rice, omeletes, etc. to garnish your dish with a little sunshine!
