The listing, Six Language Multilingual Translator Handheld from Target Free ship has ended.

I received this six language multilingual translator handheld device from my Dad for Christmas. Except I have an app for that.

This would be really handy for a kid interfacing with an exchange student at school, or for a person who is afraid of iPhones with translator apps. I, too, was afraid of my iPhone when hubby got it for me. I said it was a demon device from the depths of Steve Jobs' demon layers of demonic activity.

But then I played Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and found out I could put GROUPON on my phone. ZOMG!

So that was a couple of years ago and my dad thinks iPhones are a waste of money (they totally are) and got me this translator because my mother-in-law is Colombian, but the problem is, when she's yelling at me at length in Spanish, it's kind of .... awkward, to pull this thing out and slowly type in Colombian profanities to search the correct translation. Is she calling me a moron or a worse? Who knows!!!

So, there you have it, it's a translator of translated-ness. It translates over 10,000 often used words and phrases in English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, and German.

But it doesn't have dirty words in it. I looked. :)

Does it run on Batteries ? and if I understand correctly, it is pre-programmed, not airwave?

It is pre-programmed with ~10,000 commonly used words and phrases in the six languages.... I have absolutely no idea what you mean when you state "airwave." I apologize could you describe that a little bit more in detail?

Oh, no! This device is what I consider low-end. When I got it at Christmas it's in a Target-brand box, probably one of the special gifts they put out just for the holidays. So definitely nothing fancy. Thanks for replying and helping me clear that up :)

Would be fun to ride a city bus all day with one of those and know what everyone was saying without them knowing. Then to be able to say something as they are getting off in their language would be especially funny if they had been talking about other people =or you. To funny!
