Questions & Comments
Hi Toni....pretty items! I can pretty much guarantee that you will be getting questions about the length of the necklace and if there are any markings, etc. So, to beat the rush, (and possibly having the this "flagged" for lack of information), whatever information you can provide helps you, the auction and your bidders. Best Regards, jay
Thanks for the suggestions. I am working on better descriptions. When people say 'stamped', does it mean there is some kind of little mark on the back that has like maker, kts, ect. and what if you can't read it? Again, thanks for your help.
Hello! Cute necklace. It is so nice to see someone being nice on here and giving helpful advice! I am a newbie to! Good luck to you! Love your auctions!
Good luck to you, as well. Yes, Jay has been awesome in helping me with some questions. And I really do love to help people, especially when it comes to talking about jewelry, clothes, etc.
Hi Toni. You aRe welcome. Yes, with jewelry, there can be a number of different possible markings; some tell the metal quality/content, some even the type of stones (usually in reference to diamonds), some just a makers mark (which itself can make a big difference), and sometimes no markings or stamps at all. As for if there is something, but you cannot read it, I would suggest obtaining a magnifier, especially if you plan on dealing with jewelry. I picked up a magnifier w/handle & pocket magnifier at Joanne Fabrics for a couple of bucks. On your necklaces, if there is a mark, it will be on the little flat pieces attached to the connectors. And, I have also seen some very high quality/expensive pieces without any markings at all. So it's good to never assume the quality due to lack of a mark either...otherwise, some day ya might be watching Antiques Roadshow to discover the piece ya got rid of for a few bucks is paying for someones retirement! (:
Or you can just be honest if asked and say you cannot tell if there is. Or if there is and you cant read it just let everyone know in you description. Fanned
