Description

The listing, RARE COCA COLA SIGN: A RERPRODUCTION OF A FINELY GROUND GLASS AND STEEL SIGN: MARKET VALUE: $200 has ended.

Although the scene depicted is different than the other advertising sign, I have listed, the process to manufacture it is the same. It was popularized in the early 1900's. Each image is crafted by layering liquified enamels of finely ground glass crystals into steel plates and kiln-firing them at 1350 degrees. This process makes this sign durable and rust-resistant. Your sign will last indefinitely, while maintaining its lustrous finish. It measures 12 inches high x 8 3/8 inches wide. This sign will come shipped to the winner FREE. Good luck everyone and happy bidding.

What condition is your sign in? Any bends or dents or scratches?
Apr 20th, 2014 at 9:16:29 PM PDT by
Original
The front is in excellent condition. The back has some minor scratches. When the sign is hung, just the beautiful front shows. I do not think the scratches detract from the value, because they are minor.

Is this actually a porcelain sign or metal??

Thank you, Karl for your question. It is made of finely ground glass and steel. The glass becomes a liquid, when it is heated. Then, it will adhere to the steel.
I would also like to thank you for being the high bidder on this auction. And, I would like to thank the 25 Listians who are watching this.

What do you mean by the scene is different. Is this the actual picture you have in this auction?
Apr 23rd, 2014 at 7:16:58 PM PDT by

Yes, Christine. If you remember, I had another tray that was made of liquified glass and steel. The other one deepicted a different picture than this one. Thank you for the question. I welcome all questions.
