I have listed a couple of these already and people seem to like them, so here is another! :) This one is out of the plastic and missing the cap. I have tested it and it is working great. Do you need a Wireless Router for this to work?

Yes. The adapter just allows you to comunicate on wi-fi. You still need a wi-fi signal, such as the one a wireless router emitts.

yes you need a modem with wireless capabbility in order for these to work have one I won on here about a momth ago runs fine pff of my att HG Gateway 2 modem which is also wifi and a router in one

Educate me so does this works with any computer with a usb port, I have a wireless router that my laptops connect to but I have a desktop that I want to connect wireless could this do the trick

do you have to have a 'data account' with a company? I also have a netgear wireless thingy; but i think mine is a 'card' that fit in a slot in an old ( dont own anymore HP laptop). Does yours need to fit in a slot in a computer?

It is a USB adapter. You put it in a USB slot just like you would any other USB device, and the computer setects it. Newer versions of Windows should auto detect it and install drivers for you, otherwise I have provided links to the manufacturer to download drivers. No account needed.

does this one have the cord with it that lets it extend away from the computer? i got one of these new and i can with one. i love these.
