This is a book about Black Americans of Achievement. This particular volume is the life story of Jackie Robinson the first black man to play Major League Baseball and also the first black man to ever play in an all-star game.This is a great book! It was published for Grolier by Chelsea house and the copyright was 1987. This book is in excellent condition it looks as new now as it did over 25 years ago. It starts out with a fantastic essay by Coretta Scott King , Martin Luther King Jr's wife. You will learn how he was able to overcome ridicule , Prejudice and controversy. This book is so good I want to tell you about everything that's in it but I better stop now. There is so much to know and so much to learn from this book. You will not only learn of his Black American Achievements but you will also learn a great deal about Major League Baseball. There is a great photo on almost every single page. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
