I purchased this new from Home Shopping Network and it wore it 24/7 for several months. I did not grow to dislike it. I just like to change my neckchains to other styles every several months.

This 18" chain never tarnished nor did its quality deplete. I cleaned it with liquid jewelry cleaner and it shines like new. It didn't lose much of its luster in the first place since it is made of stainless steel.

A string of silvertone beads wraps around the rope adding weight and thickness. I don't have a scale but I would say that this piece weighs a generous 4-5 grams. The chain measures about 1mm wide. It has a large lobster claw clasp for easy closure. The clasp is stamped with 'ma (Michael Anthony) Stainless Steel.'

In the photos it may appear that the wrapped beads are loose in spots. They are secure and hang properly when the neckchain is worn. The third photo shows the most accurate color depiction since my camera's quality and my photographic skills are lacking in the other photos.

Stainless steel jewelry pieces are considered as fine jewelry rather than costume.This is a lovely piece and stainless steel is especially ideal for those, like me, who have metal allergies. I never broke out while wearing this fine jewelry neckchain.
