THE CARD:
This is a 1968 Topps #390 Bill Mazeroski baseball card.

THE PLAYER:
A 9-time Gold Glove winner at second, Maz is one of then lightest hitters in the Hall of Fame, with just over 2000 career hits, yet he is known for hitting what many consider the greatest home run in baseball history. In Game 7 of the 1960 World Series, Maz came up in the bottom of the 9th and smacked the ball over the left field wall at Forbes Field, sending a heavily favored Yankees team that featured the likes of Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra home without the title. It was the only time in World Series history that Game 7 ended on a walk-off home run, cementing Bill Mazeroski's status as baseball legend. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2000 by the Veteran's Committee, and you can trust that his famous home run played a big part in his election.

See photos for condition. The card has a subtle crease on the back which I cannot see but which I can feel when rubbing my finger across the card.
