This is a 1958 Topps #182 JOE CAFFIE baseball card.
This is Joe's ROOKIE CARD.

THE PLAYER:
A former Negro League player, Caffie was noted for his speed and hitting prowess in the minors, leading the entire Class-C league in triples and batting in 1952. Caffie's career was hampered not by his ability, as he continued throughout his career to lead the various minor leagues in several hitting and speed categories, but instead was hampered by the emergence of players like Roger Maris and Rocky Colavito in the same organization. In 1961, he gave up baseball and went to work as a laborer in a steel mill; he died in 2011 at the age of 80.
