This book was originally withdrawn on behalf of the New York Public Library. And somehow ended up being sold at Abebooks.com where I purchased it on line.

I enjoyed reading of Ms. Vowell's depiction of the bumpy road in her life and pondering serious questions as: why is she happiest visiting the sites of bloody struggles in Salem or Gettysburg? Basicly Ms. Vowell is trying to validate her patriotism.

It makes for a good read and good book to own. I will miss it.
