First book of "The Mark of the Lion" trilogy. Everyone I have ever talked to who has read this novel has RAVED about it. It is gripping, powerful, life-changing! Though written by a Christian author, this is no fluffy pastel "Christian" novel... it is gritty historical fiction at it's best, at times violent, often to the point of being hard to read... but that is because it pulls you in and transports you back to the fall of Jerusalem and the horrors and excesses of the ancient Roman Empire and the persecution of the Jews and Christians. Intertwined throughout the background of grittiness and pain, however, there is a love story so stirring, so powerful... you will never forget it. I loved this book so much I went and bought the trilogy as a boxed set, so now I no longer need this copy.
Condition: slightly worn paperback. Inscribed with a name on the inside front cover. Some dings and dents in the front and back covers, and a crease in the back cover. But still perfectly readable! I'm sure you will not be able to put this one down! One of my friends stayed up until 4am to finish it, and said the next day that she will never be the same person after having read this!
