Description

The listing, Red Cypress Vine Seeds has ended.

Bright Red Trumpets from Summer till Fall!
Elegant fern-like foliage!
Easy to grow, this vigorous 12- to 25-foot vine simply erupts with 3 to 4 months of bright blooms! Cypress Vine is the perfect screen, with lacy, fern-like foliage elegant enough for the patio yet dense and lush, for superb coverage. The rich red blooms form neat, 5-pointed stars with long trumpet-shaped throats, studded among the foliage like jewels.

Cypress Vine is a sun-loving annual and is not picky about soil type. A good choice for the less-rich soils near fences and against structures.

Winner will receive approx. 30 seeds

Would this "climb" a fence or pole? And it's just an annual, so I'd need to save the seeds for next year?
Mar 12th, 2010 at 2:59:16 PM PST by
Original
Yes it will climb and I save seeds every year but if the winter isn't too bad they come up in the spring when I start to water from the seeds that drop. In really areas where the winter is harsh you might have to resow the seeds.

Nice to know. Of course THIS winter has probably killed a lot of things! I just love lots of color and have places for things to climb.

It's pouring rain right now, but as long as it's not white, I don't mind!

They are very easy to grow, I soak the seeds overnight in room temp water then plant right into the ground, I have planted in containers and given them as gifts after they sprouted also.

these are the easiest things to grow that Ive ever found! They grow up and over ANYTHING in their way. Perfect for fences or ever around dead tree stumps. They will grow up and over it showing themselves off. Worth every bid!!

I love them for that reason! I live in West Texas and it is so barren and brown and dead looking. These add such beautiful color! I have a dead tree I am going to plant them around this year. I already have them on my fence and I have two in containers that grow up trellis'. I love to watch hummingbirds too and they love them!
