Unable to see any writing so maybe not gold? Brand new and pretty even with no markings that I can see

If it is brand new and gold, it would be required to be stamped with gold karat. Therefor you can be assured it is gold tone, not gold. If it were from the 1800's that would not be true. I gave my grandmothers ring to my niece and it was not marked, but definitly gold. I cannot remember the purity but it was very high, over 18 kt., but was tested when I was young and my father told me it was close to pure.

gold plate is marked GP or EGP, or 12 kt 1/20th kt gold filled

Gold plate is not always marked gold gf or gp or anything for that matter the same for if its real gold it is not always marked if u cant test it then the color of it is normally wat gives it away for the people who know gold a low karat like 10 is a lil harder but 14kt and up the color of it is noticable n can't b faked just so all the people I see talkin like ur experts NOTHING is ALWAYS marked im no expert but this is something I learned from experiance in treasure finding €:-)
