Description

The listing, Graphics Card-Galaxy Nvidia 8400GS PCIE 512MB DDR2. Free Ship! has ended.

Up for auction is a Galaxy Nvidia 8400GS PCIE 512MB DDR2 Video/Graphics card. I recently won this on this site but didn't realize I had won one on eBay first that was a better card and now I don't need this one. I don't have a tower setup yet to test this so I have no idea if it works. It was listed before as working. When I got it I did however make sure it was clean and put new Arctic Silver thermal compound on the GPU. All the chips, capacitors, pins, etc. look to be in good shape. Since I can't test this I am listing it AS-IS for my protection. Please bid accordingly.

I'm not using GIN and don't want to and won't lower the days so please don't ask. I don't mean to sound rude but I try to be as up front and informative as possible with my auctions. Please no rude/snide comments. Just a fair warning...Any rude/snide comments WILL get you blocked.

I ship USPS and usually same day if possible depending on business days and holidays that the mail runs. I also ship U.S only. Normal rules apply and you WILL need a Listia verified address for me to ship to. PLEASE have your address entered into Listia before trying to win. If you don't it just makes it take longer to get to you! It only takes a minute to get it done so don't be lazy and go do it! Lol. You must also click "Have it shipped" after the auction ends to send the address. Check my feedback and you'll see I ship out fast and try to please my winners. Per Listia Rules if I don't receive a response that it is done in 7 days then your credits are forfeited and I will re-list it for someone else to win. Sorry for any inconvenience but it's the rules..

All of my auctions that are listed as free shipping will include a tracking number (unless I notify the winner otherwise) for both party's protection. I send it to the winner as soon as I receive it if applicable.

Maybe, maybe not. That's up to the winner to research or know what they are buying. I've provided everything AI possibly can so I've done my part. If you don't want it then don't bid! Simple as that. I don't usually get huffy but you've commented that on 2 of my auctions now. A bidder should do their homework first anyway. I do! One more negative comment on any of my auctions robertlouisdarcy and you're banned. If YOU can't use it then you shouldn't even be commenting in the first place.YOU might not be able to use it but someone else might and might be able to make it work so stop trying to scare people away with little time left. It will make a good card for someone. Man I get tired of that. Someone always gotta stick their nose where it doesn't belong and push their opinion.

So there's no updated or older driver's out there anywhere? I would think there would be one somewhere that would work. Idk as I haven't looked.

I recently bought into a game that required a very high powered GPU.
so I had to do the research to get one that would work, and one of the compatibility issues was it required DX-11, and no, I don't believe that a DX-11 game would run on a DX-10 or lower GPU. but I wouldn't get too excited about that issue. most games out there are still DX-10 compatible. it's just the ost recent and graphical demanding games like the one I bought into. "Star Citizen" which was explicitly clear it required DX-11. otherwise this is a very nice GPU card that will work for all but the latest and greatest of games.

Sounds about right. I guess that would make sense that the latest might have issues. I don't think I've played a game on my PC ever since I've had my PS3 so I'm WAY out of knowledge on that frontier! Lol.

Well. Now I'm kind of wishing I would have kept this. I won this after I had one a bigger EVGA card on eBay and now the stupid seller says it was damaged in shipping by their drop shipper and they were back logged so now I have to spend a higher amount with someone else to get one. Hope this finds a good home though since I can't keep it. Best of luck bidders!

Idk. I always thought that the newer versions of DirectX software would work with older stuff kind of like it scales back. I'm probably wrong but I've never had an issue getting most hardware to work. I'm not really into the gaming PC specs or anything like that. I know that Windows 7 was basically a better version of Vista and most everything I have used on 7 that was written or built for Vista would work. That's just me though. Lol.

robertlouisdarcy I would also think that there are updated drivers out there like most things. I don't know for sure but there usually are.

I don't see why it wouldn't run on 7. Maybe not on 8 or 8.1 but if it will work with Vista it should run on 7. They are pretty much the same with less bugs. But I don't know for sure.

Yeah it just had a little dust on it and the thermal compound was starting to look a little dry although it was still malleable. Plus it was the white kind so I figured the Arctic Silver would be better.

What is the watts?
Apr 25th, 2014 at 3:40:46 AM PDT by
Original
I can't find any good documentation to find the wattage. I found a couple of sites that sell or have sold these and they list some specs and reviews but I don't see anything about the power requirements/consumption.
I tried looking at Galaxy's website but when I go to their "all product" page that they give for finding the requirements it is just a 404 page so it must be down. I have pasted below the links to a couple of the pages I found these on. Hope this is okay as it is all I can find at the moment. The part number is 84GFE6HDFEXN if you want to try to do some more research on it. Maybe you'll have better luck than me. Lol.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162027

This is a good one with a ton of information. It says in the minimum system requirements it needs a 300W power supply.
