It's a little hard to see, but in each picture I show each cartridge working in the GBA. The ON button does have to be pushed with a little strength to turn on, but otherwise the system runs perfectly.

In each of the pictures where the game is on, it shows it plugged in with AC adapter. Do the batteries hold a charge? Thanks F&W&B

I'm not sure how long the charges last on the batteries. If I had thought about this sooner I would have let both batteries reach a full charge and tested them out for length. I plugged it in for those pics when I rediscovered the system and wanted to show it worked.
