The listing, Giant tree spinach 20-40 seeds has ended.
I have extra (tiny!) seeds of Chenopodium giganteum that I just purchased from a local permaculture supplier. This plant is a relative of quinoa and lambsquarters. It's an annual leafy vegetable that grows over 8 feet tall. Native of India, now cultivated and usually sold as Tree Spinach. Young leaves can be eaten raw, older ones cooked. Seeds look like tiny quinoa and can be cooked and eaten like quinoa. Easy to grow and will self sow - so think about where you plant it. Likes full sun to partial shade. Like spinach, the leaves contain oxalic acid (so perhaps shouldn't be eaten raw too frequently). Apparently these plants also pick up a lot of nitrates so either needn't be grown in highly composted soil, and/or can be used as "green manure".
