The listing, 24K gold plated President Barack Obama Inauguration Coin has ended.

This is a very nice commemorative coin for the 44th president and the 56th presidential inauguration. It is gold clad (not solid gold) and probably about a 1 ounce coin. I don't know what the base metal is underneath. I never remove coins from their plastic cases and I never leave fingerprints on coins. It appears to be in perfect mint condition and comes in the plastic case. Let's just say I have no use for this coin. Free shipping.

so I did some checking and this may be more rare than I thought. Ebay doesn't have a single exmple of this exact coin. There is a similar one, but it's not the inauguration coin. so....might be a good collectible.

I would say anything from his first campaign and inauguration is deffinately going to hold it's value. Politics aside, his election was an historical moment in our country and an event that just can't be repeated. Think of the value of anything related to Kennedy and my guess is in 25 or 50 years ~anything~ related to Obama will be looked at similarly. Great auction and the winner of this coin is getting a piece of history. (I still don't like him:) hahaha
