Description

The listing, 5.5 Carats of Rough Ethiopian Welo Opal - Natural Gemstone has ended.

This is an opal in the rough, as natural as it gets. : ) It was mined in Ethiopia. I tried to take pictures at different angles to show the colors, but the pictures don't do this justice!! It is beautiful and colorful!! But I need to thin out my collection.

It weights 5.5 carats, and measures approx. 12 X 9 X 4 mm. Pefect for a wire-wrapped pendant.

Ships next business day with tracking number!!
(IF I have your verified address in time.)

This is a real natural opal, not opalite. BUt thank you for the compliment.

Wikipedia says, "Opalite is a trade name for synthetic opalised glass and various opal simulants. It is also used to promote impure varieties of variously colored common opal."

opalite is a real stone it is formed in the ocean from glass & shell particals mixing so its not fake its just a fake opal there is another stone that mimics opals that is also natural called sea glass that is found where volcanos erupted & it is a form of obsideum but yes there are a lot of man made & false opals on here & you do have a great looking piece of natural opal just thought people should know that not all false opals are man made & not all of them are junk even if they aren't real opals but yes people should list exactly what they have as you have
