As far as I know they are real. When I bought them from the company I was told they were.

these look more like red stones - not particularly garnets - ruby maybe? pretty tho!

I used a refractometer to check these stones. They are garnet.

There are over 8 colors of garnet. I have the red, brown, and an orange one so far. Going for the blue color change next.
