The listing, 1930's Glass Milk Bottle has ended.
Purvin Dairy Co. (Wilkes-Barr, P.A.) glass milk bottle. I am estimating the date as 1930's or earlier as the company name and other identifying marks are embossed rather than being marked with pyroglaze or ACL. This glass is unusually textured with a criss-cross pattern and has a rainbow tint. The bottle is round with squared edges and a wide mouth. I know nothing about milk bottles other than the information that is readily available on the internet and would love to know how this unique color cast is achieved in a machine-produced bottle. Other identifying marks: Bottle is embossed with the following around the bottom: LIQ.-X 233 1 REG.- SEALED mTf S HALF PINT The bottom is marked 11 P E57. Around the neck are notches. Please note that the straw coloring is only visible in the photographs and my be nothing more than accumulated dust. This bottle has not been washed since I picked it up at a flea market. It is 5 1/2" high and 7 1/2" in diameter.
