Here's the thing. I got this in the box with my controller and it was a 14 day trial. I Tried to type it in in xbox 360 LIVE, and it said code not valid. But I go type it in on my ONE and it said 'THIS CODE IS REDEEMABLE FOR 14 DAYS OF XBOX LIVE.' I know it didn't make sense to me either and I was actually a little mad. But yeah, it only works on Xbox ONE.
