The Spectacular 'Sunberry' used to be very popular in victorian times. Grows a rather large sprawling bush like a tomato and produces small semi-sweet purple berries about the size of heirloom blueberries (often mistaken for the highly poisonous black nightshade.), when sweetened with sugar and cooked down it makes a great ice cream sauce, also makes great jams and pie fillings….and if you’re like me the berries usually never make it into the house….but beware! Unripe berries are poisonous! 60-75 days from transplant.
Care: Grow these 12-24″ shrubs like a tomato plant. Plant 24-36″ apart in rows 3-4′ apart in full sun.
