Can you use this to upgrade a Dell with Windows XP2, or do you have to already have Windows 7 installed to use this disk?

to the best of my knowledge u can use this cd to install windows 7 on your dell but u will need to have a drivers and utilities disk to install your drivers.
i will be posting a drivers and utilities disk here soon if you dont have one

one more question... If you have a Dell PC of your own with Windows 7 on it, have you checked to see if the key on the restore CD is the same as the serial number of your already-installed Windows 7 operating system? (If so, the key could be used again, but whoever used it couldn't get Windows updates, etc. because you're already getting them under that serial number. Microsoft would consider it a bootleg copy & wouldn't allow it to be used by 2 different computers (not if they're in different states, anyway :)

that's OK, I just found out it won't work on my PC without repartitioning the hard drive so I'd have to back up & reinstall all my programs & data files. I'm on a 32-bit machine & the 64-bit won't install without wiping everything out. Darn. :( Good luck with the auction anyway!
