This is a Gameboy Advanced game first off not DS, but can work with a DS but not 3DS. This is not fake, the 'holographic' background is the label, a shimmering red color, of which you have.
Hope this clears things up.

hardrocker37 means that when you start the game, does it give you the warning that timed based events will not occur.

Since you didn't understand the original question, then I'll assume you've never seen that warning and that this games does keep time.
