The first time I saw blue-eyed grass I thought I was imagining things! Tiny blue flowers in the grass winking at me? Sure enough, I located it again and carefully transplanted it to the border of the garden. I didn't know what it was but the flowers were so cute! Eventually I learned that it is actually a wildflower and I added more to my garden. I later discovered the white variety! I just love these!!! And now I have seeds to share with you!

Auction is for 20 seeds. Annual grass-like plant in the iris (Iridaceae) family. The white to pale blue flowers of Sisyrinchium campestre alba (White Blue-eyed Grass), are a beautiful addition to mid-Spring.

Plant develops from a central axis forming a rosette. Leaves compressed and glabrous. Flowers are solitary with six petals, three anthers surrounding a single pistil. Seed pods are round, smooth, approximately 0.5 cm in diameter.

A winter annual weed in turfgrass primarily on sandy textured soils.
