Fanned back. Oh and for me my solar takes care of the power requirements. In reality though it's not all that bad for power. You just need to figure out your daily regular power use and the add the miners in. Make sure if you plan on doing it to use some device to get the true power draw from the equipment.

Basically you sign up for a pool. It's a bunch of users working on a block to solve and you get paid for the work you do in bitcoin. Sites like btcguild.com and bitminter.com are good sites to start mining and they explain things way better than I can. There's also a forum called bitcointalk.org that is very helpful.
