My Dad doesn't like to talk about his WWII experience. I have heard little in the 57 yrs I've known Him. He has shared stories with others and from what I've heard, I know now why He never shared them with me. I learned for the first time a couple months ago that my Dad had killed someone as a soldier. This was somewhat of a shock to know. He was wounded in battle, lived, and went back into battle. Everytime I see an old WWII movie, and they show a nose gunner on a bomber such as the one my Dad operated, I think of the many chances He could have been killed. I do remember Him saying the the worse part of being attacked on the ground was the straying of bullets from attacking bombers. He has shared comical war stories with me but, not the any other type. Him and His buddies crossed enemy lines and stole a motorcycle from an enemy camp. He said the guard saw them doing it but, couldn't believe it and never shot at them. He was somewhat of a rebel. He is a GOOD MAN, and I am so very proud of Him. I love Him dearly. :0)
