Description

The listing, Antique Cat Bell has ended.

My grandmother gave me my first cat when I was 4 years old, named him Midnight as he was coal black, she put this little bell on him so I could find him when he hid. When he died I put it in a little box and kept it all these years. I have never put it on another cat. It's time to go to another little girl to find her cat when he hides. I still have a cat, but they never hid from me after midnight as he lived to be 16. It was on grandma's when she was little. She said her grandma put it on her first cat. It is 1 1/4 " wide, 1" high, and 1" deep. And it has the prettiest tinkle. Love hear it ring.

It would be nice to know it was kept going. My daughter had a cat but she didn't like the bell, she would get on Kelly's bed at night and wake her with the bell. So Kelly took it off. It went back in my old jewelry box, and my granddaughter passed away before she had a cat.

What a sweet, wonderful and amazing story! Thank you for sharing that. I surmise that your Grandmother was one very special lady! =) Would you mind, if I-too, share your story? I'm also a cat lover. My special wonderful sweet cat that I had, just recently passed away, not long before her 13th birthday. I was grieving so hard for her, that I wasn't coping with it very well-and sometimes, I still don't. However, I know that she is waiting for me at the edge of Rainbow Bridge. I was grieving so hard for Sable; that I had to adopt another cat; to help me with the grief process. Cats are a wonderful pet; and they don't care if you wet them with your tears. They just stay right with you and comfort you the best they can; until you stop crying. I love dearly every cat that I have ever had! =D Now, i have Sweet Boy, whom is a Savannah cat, and a domestic short hair cat. He just turned a year old. If you want to see his picture, you can look at the last pic or two, in any of my current auctions. He is truly a sweetheart. =D

Oh I will go look for them , my cat is just an old tom cat that came to my neices and she brought him to me, and he had the biggest feet for such a little cat that I called him Feetie, he was all feet. but he has grown into them in th past 3 years. I love cats, always did. I was in the hospital from right after Christmas till after New Years (heart attack) and when I came home I had to even eat with him sitting on my knee watching. He is finally giving me some space, but not much. And when I go to sleep he is curled up on me, and any time I wake he sits up immediately. Worse than my kids.

ny of my later cats, It was special between Grandma Fletcher and me. I didn't get to have a cat until I was married, and a husband can't say no and expect to have a happy home with warm meals, lol. No my Bill liked my cat too, although he swore he didn't. He was a special person for sure.
