H.G.E. stands for heavy gold electroplated. A ring that has those letters engraved on the inside isn't made of gold. It's made of some other metal that has been layered over with gold plating. The plating wears away with time. But the thicker the plating, the longer the lifespan. And H.G.E. is the thickest plating around for jewelry.....I googled this because I didn't know what it was thought I would share this because you have up that its not fake and it isn't but it is misleading if I had bid and found the info out later I would be highly upset . Good luck on your auction it is still a pretty ring im sure it you will get what want for it :)
