This etching is based on a larger piece monotype painting I did that is currently on display in the Ernest G.Welch School of Art & Design Gallery. The paper is 9 in x 12 in. Titled "Spirit" #1 of an edition of 5 on somerset paper.-------More Information about this process-----------
Solar plate etching is a process where a plate is coated with non-toxic light-sensative material, then exposed to a transparency under the sun, which hardens the material in varying degrees according to the light and dark areas on the transparency. The plate is then rinsed off with water, and dried throughly. The plate is then printed as an intaglio.
