You're an idiot! That's the lamest excuse i've ever heard to try to get something. If you are leaving for the army then you don't need it. If they want you to have it then it will be issued to you.
Here's the problem with your lame excuse, see im a Marine and know better than that bs. If your gonna try to give a sob story then try it on some people who don't know any better. Plus if you going army crying like that over lil knife boy i know the world is in good hands. Grow the hell up and go buy one for 10 - 20 bucks if you want one so bad.
Tsk tsk.... always gotta be lil kids whining and crying bout stuff cuz mommy doesnt love them and get them what they want so they make up some poor excuse to get pity. If only i were that age again so many memories of stuff your fragile lil mind could never comprehend. Shame what happened to people like you.
Blue I don't know where you got your list from but you may be miss understanding it. 1st, any bag and clothes you bring with you are taken at the beginning of basic and locked up. Same goes for any knife you take with you. There is a list of requires items tour recruiter will give you and it is not going to say just a knife camp bag and clothes. Those would be part of an extras list of items you can take but not keep with you. You will be given them all back at the end of basic and when you continue on to your Army Individual Training you can take a knife but have to clear it with your instructor team of you can carry it. Same goes for when you are active duty and deploy. Unlike the movies, you can't take anything you want with you on deployment. Any non issued item must be approved and that goes for all branches.
Bottom line, no branch of US military service requires you to have a tactical or any other kind of knife when entering. Not for basic and not for any school. Any school like SERE that requires knifes, Issue them to you. The only blade you will need to take Is a razor to shave with. Even then, it can't be a straight razor.
