Description

The listing, Live Java Moss - golf ball sized portion, for aquarium has ended.

Live Java Moss. Approximately a golf ball sized portion.

Very healthy. Excellent for any freshwater aquarium. (not for saltwater)

Medium to low light is all that's needed to keep it alive.

One neat way to utilize it in your aquarium, is to use fishing line and wrap part of the moss around a piece of driftwood or a rock. The moss will then grow as if it's a carpet on whatever object it was tied down to. Or just let it float around inside the aquarium.

Please do not ask for a GIN.

Java moss will be shipped in a zip lock bag with minimal water (so as to avoid possible leaking and to keep from having a hassle with the post office). It will arrive happy and healthy, though be prepared to place it in your aquarium the day you receive it.

I will be listing other portions of this Java Moss after this auction is completed as I need to thin my tank out a bit.

So would I. But seeing how the two auctions that closed last week for this same moss (I have quite a bit to offer) went for over 6000 and almost 7000 on the other, I'll have to pass on 300. Thank you for the interest though.

I have two Oscars in two 55 gallon tanks.. will they interfere with their health?

I can answer that, no! The Oscars will love it, as it makes hunting for their live prey more of a sport, keeps the water ph better balanced, and my Oscars would sometimes hide in it, as their prey swam around unsuspectingly in the tank. The fun of having an Oscar is watching them basically eat whatever other fish you put in the tank. They are born hunters, and this moss will thrill them to death! That is why it goes for so much-fake moss and crap does nothing for your tank but give you something else to clean. Feeder fish will nibble on this, it makes your tank pretty and alive, and like he described, if you wrap it around a good size rock it will take off if you have a healthy tank! Spend your points on this, it's a good buy!

I'm fairly new to the site but if you have another portion I would be willing to buy it now for 3500. I'm trying to get a good plant to start for my aquarium.

Hi. Thank you for checking out the auction. I've sold a few of these on here and most of them go for over 6,000 credits. Thank you though.

Live plants are great. They help remove nitrates from the water and help keeps algae from growing (the live plants consume nutrients instead of the algae). This initial amount won't make a huge impact but it helps. Plus it doesn't need as much light as some other types of live plants so it will grow in almost anyone's freshwater tank.

@bethHorne thankx for the info ..much needed.I tried having plastic plants but as I am sure you already know oscar s are destructive little buggers and seemed to enjoy destroying them. Then I tried adding weighted plants but they found them irresistible also so I tend to keep my tanks free of anything that may harm them during their temper tantrums..lol. But will try bidding on this since it seems 100% more sensible.
