The listing, 2000 Royal Rookies "K-Rod" FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ rookie card (Angels - Brewers) has ended.
This is a 2000 Royal Rookies card for Anaheim Angels pitcher Francisco Rodriguez.
"K-Rod" made an immediate impact with the Angels; after only a handful of appearances in 2002, he became one of the stars of the 2002 postseason by striking out 28 batters in 18.2 innings and helping the Angels to their first (and only) World Series championship over Barry Bonds and the San Francisco Giants. In 2008, he set a major league record by recording 62 saves for the Angels, one of very few saves records not held by Yankees closer Mariano Rivera. With 305 career saves, Rodriguez ranks 2nd among active pitchers and at age 32 still has some years left in the tank to climb the charts and solidify his spot as one of baseball's greatest closers. He started out 2014 by converting his first 15 save opportunities with the Milwaukee Brewers and as of this posting is on pace to best his 2008 record season.
