Some info on Opal:

Opal is thought to have been discovered as long as 4,000 years ago, and myths and lore abound in practically all cultures about this brilliant gemstone. The ancient Greeks thought opal to be the tears of Zeus and prized it as highly as diamonds. They believed opal gave the gift of foresight and prophecy, which would ensure the owner's success in war, business and life.

The legend of the Australian aborigine tells that opal is 'creator's footprint that touched the earth at the base of a rainbow to bring harmony'.

The ancient Romans wore opal as a symbol of hope and purity and believed it could cure illness. In ancient India, opal was referred to as the Goddess of the Rainbow, turned to stone. Ancient Arab cultures believed opal had fallen from the sky and that the play of color was trapped lightning. According to Arab lore, opal could make the wearer invisible.

White Opal:

This stone is also known as 'milk' or 'milky' opals. White opals are primarily found in Southern Australia. White opals are distinguished by their pale white or light color tone. As with any kind of opal, white opals can display any color of the spectrum in a beautiful play of color and depending on the quality of the opal found, they can be worth quite a bit.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and take a look. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Now please Have Fun, Good Luck, and Happy Bidding!

Wow i would have never thought opal would be strong enough for a pointed pendulum type pendant! It looks more like moonstone than opal, but regardless its gorgeous. Blessings!

I didn't say it was easy and it is the first and it may be a long time before I list another. I like a challenge and since the shaping part can be done even when I am having my worst "cancer" days can still work on shaping while I can only cast on days when I feel 100% (okay well at least 95) and someone can be with me but I can shape away all day long no matter what. I appreciate the awesome compliment and you taking the time to look and comment. Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! ~Namaste

Thank you so very much=) I appreciate you taking the time to look at them all. I know that had to be time consuming. I honor that time a great deal. Never fear asking questions if you happen to have any. I try to put a few new ones up every day but never fear I put them up for at the very least 7 days so don't think you will miss any. All of my things are either remainders from having to close my Multi-Faith metaphysical shop without any warning which means I knew every artisan who and they were all made locally (to me anyway) I have a few things I list from India but all are fair trade practice companies that we actually got to know the families we worked with. I traveled to mines I got my gems from for the most part if there were any doubts about safe practices. i.e. Malachite, Diamonds, etc to make sure they were earth and human safe. Then about 2 months ago I finally started casting in metal again just a very few pieces but have never stopped shaping. So thank you so much. Oh and compliments are freely accepted here=) ~Namaste
