It's a cdma phone. Meaning it will not work on any other carrier unless you "flash" it. Do a bit of research on "flash vs unlock" to get a better understanding if needed. Any more questions just ask. Thanks

It's not activated to make calls. And this phone can NOT be activated to it original Carrier Verizon. I canceled my 2 year contract to go to prepaid Verizon to save money.

For LTE purposes for verizon. But it will not work for sim card companies such as AT&T or T-Mobile. It also can not get globally unlocked like the Galaxy Note 2 / S4 / S5 can on Verizon and work on Sim card type carriers. This phone is only CDMA, (Sprint, Verizon, Cricket, PagePlus) and maybe a few more that I can't recall off the top of my head.
