What do the adapters tend to run like in prices

It depends on
1-the brand of camera you intend on mounting it on, e.g. a brand like Hasselblad is very expensive, whereas others are less costly
2-whether or not the adapter has glass integrated into it, which allows the photographer to focus to infinity.
3-the company that you buy it from. If you are patient enough to send off to China or Japan, etc., you can get some excellent deals, BUT you have to be willing to wait for like a month for it to come in the mail. That's what I do. I am in no hurry.

you say its a pentax but the box says minolta does it have an adapter to fin a minolta? or what does that mean. I have an MD mount.

I think it originally came with 3 adapters, but when I bought it that's what came with it. I was going to buy an F mount adapter for it to fit on my camera, but I have an M42 lens so I just went with an M42 to F mount adapter and it works fine so I thought maybe someone could use this. I believe MD mount is Minolta. With a K mount to MD mount adapter, you'd be good to go. Thanks for looking and inquiring.

I recommend that you use a tripod or some type of brace like a car window or car roof, and make sure there is enough light.

No prob Friend, same here, I'm still learning, too. I didn't mean to sound abrupt. Sorry about that. This telephoto lens should work nicely on your K1000 with no other adapter needed, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

With the right adapter, most slr and dslr cameras can be compatible, but the adapters are costly. An adapter that has "glass" would be the best. They run like $25 up, but is worth it and means that you can now use probably any Pentax K/M bayonet mount lens on your camera, whatever particular kind: Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc.
