The listing, Moss for garden, terrarium or bonsai has ended.
We have a very mossy property, and I collected these last week. The genus is Bryum, maybe sp. caespiticium. It's a pretty widespread moss that can tolerate full sun and dry conditions and will "come back to life" with regular moisture. These have greened up a lot since I brought them inside, water daily and set near a window with venetian blinds.
This moss grows in tight, smooth clumps and spreads relatively quickly. It's popular for bonsai, filling in cracks between paving stones, and would also be a nice addition to a terrarium.
GIN offers welcome before bids are placed.

"Bryum and Ceratodon are slow growers since mosses they grow upright in tight colonies with little outward expansion. They are velvet to the touch. One Bryum type stays brilliant green even during droughts. “Sidewalk” mosses will work best on alkaline soil substrate. I’ve known several bonsai folks that like to use “blue” moss which is Bryum argenteum. It has a silvery, blue sheen. Its common name is silver-tip moss or sidewalk moss."
