I have 3 sata hard drives out here 2 40gig and 1 80gig.
They do work, have been tested and formated.

you can use these in a desktop pc as well. all you have to do is cut the 12 volt wire in the sata power connector that the laptop drive will be connected to being that a laptop drive only runs on 5 volts. desktop sata power/data connectors are the same as laptop just minus the 12 volt wire
