Description

The listing, Antique Bohemian Necklace has ended.

This is another interesting piece. The pendant is an antique, the silver chain is not.
Pendant Description: It appears to be the face of a woman with two pearl-like ( probably not real) charms dangling from the area of her ears and a small crystal from the bottom of the charm. I do not know if the pendant is real silver or not.

Pendant history:
My grandfather send this pendant home to my grandmother while he was overseas during WWII. He believes this was purchased from somewhere in Eastern Europe, possibly even Polland or maybe even around the border of Russia. He is not quite sure, he was over there quite a while.

The chain is a 7 inch chain - obviously not the orginal.

Thanks dr. it is certainly unique. I think it would look really nice on a nicer silver chain.

Thank you Lady, it is quite different. Something my grandmother never wore ( unless of course my grandfather was around - she preferred dainty jewelry).

This could be sterling or a lesser mix of silver (850 and other mixes were very common 100+ years ago), but depending on where it came from may not be marked. And the pearls look like real freshwater pearls ... not valuable particularly but probably real. The design style is Art Nouveau, popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Oh, and the chain is probably at least 15 inches, you measure the full length, not the folded-in-half length--Just FYI ...

Thanks nat, but the chain came from me so it is not antique it may not even be silver it is at least stainless steel becuase I used to wear it and I have a terrible sensitivity. The Pendandnt is not marked at all and you're right the thing is probably not valuable but the history is,

You're right Nat I hold the Pendant up to my grandmother's pearl jewelry collection and they do look similar but I am really having a hard time telling if these are real and what quality so you're probably right on that end, but again I can find no markings on the pendant. Thanks again.

Thanks, I wish he could remeber exactly where he got it- he seems to think probably around polland or close to the Russian border. But his memory is fading.
