The listing, Vintage Cameo Locket & 18 inch Chain has ended.

Up for auction a gold tone cameo locket and 18 inch chain. The locket is 1 inch by 1 inch. It is in perfect condition, the locking mechanism closes and opens as though it has never been worn. There are no marking that I can see. It is glod tone but not real gold.
I do not know how old it is. I purchased this at an estate sale several years ago. I did not wear it, just put it in my jewelry box and closed the lid.

Is this cameo glass, plastic or something else? What is it made out of?

The face feels like a hard plastic or some kind of a resin. I really don't know for sure.
