3 Ball Moss "Air Plant" SEEDS PODS.
Each pod contains about 25-50 SEEDS.
'Tillandsia Recurvata' like almost all members of the Bromeliaceae, Ball moss is a perennial herbs. This means it do not have permanent woody stems above ground, but that individual plants persist for years and will reproduce without human intervention. Like many other bromeliads, these plants are epiphytes or "air plants". Meaning they do not require soil to root in, but can survive and thrive growing above the ground hanging on branches of trees or other structures. They are not parasites. Without soil as a source of nutrients, these plants have evolved the capacity to make use of minerals dissolved in the water which flows across leaves and down branches.

Ball Moss exhibits a highly compact growth form. Ball moss flowers are a blue-to-violet. They appear in spring on a long stem emerging from the central mass of the "ball". The seed capsule will open in dec-jan.

These will also do well inside. The possibilities are endless. Just mist daily or give a water dunk once a week.

HARDINESS: USDA Zones 8 - 11. Ball moss can tolerate temperatures as low as 20 degrees F.

GROWING:
You can sow the seeds on a piece of wood covered in moist sphagnum moss and either tie the moss to the wood with raffia or pantyhose (some sow seed and then wrap the whole piece of wood in pantyhose and cut away the areas where the bromeliads germinate, more work to me though). Spread the seed along the moss, it should stick readily. You can even sow the seeds in a container with well draining sterile soil mix and have success. Keep in humid place (such as a misting bench).

Questions & Comments

I have a question and it may be kinda goofy but I love these plants and just all the possibilities of what you can do with them abd where you can put them. My question is will I be bidding on a plant like the one shown in the pictures or will I have to place it somewhere and allow it to grow from a seed? I thought I saw one picture with long seed like things and I was just wondering. The way to plant them was sort of lost on me even though I read and reread how to do so. I love this and think its amazing. Thanks in advance for any help and info.

Do you think spreading some seed on a mossy piece of bark would work?

Just so I can understand properly, we are bidding on the seeds only? Not the plants in the photos? I've always loved air plants but never attempted growing them from seeds, I'm in zone 7b north west Georgia.. Thanks a bunch F&W and will bid after I hear back from ya:)))
