If he is your only bird you will have a better chance to get him to talk, especially if he is younger. There is no guarantee for any bird to talk though. All you can really do is just repeat a word to him, have him around the tv and radio. I have a CAG that ive been working with. It normally takes years for a birds to learn to talk, if they ever will. From my experience, hand tame bird are easier to teach. I have 8 cockatiels right now. With smaller birds they have less vocal strength then a larger bird would have so their words wont be as clear. I haven't been successful with getting a cockatiel to speak but i have got them to mimic tunes they've heard.
